Qhapac Ñam: The Way of the Righteous

Inca’s times did not last hundreds of years, actually were less than century. But it represents a sum up of 5000 years of history.

And one of their most important constructions remains still today, the Qhapac Ñam. In Quechua words, Qhapac would mean righteous and Ñam means path or way, actually is very well know nowadays as the Inca trail.

This Inca trail has more than 6000 km from North to South and it has rocky path, bridges and stepsthrough the coast, the highlands and the jungle, as far from Quito, crossing Peru, Bolivia, Chile and mountains in Argentina.

But this trail has more history to tell and it is linking with the South Cross and la Chakana. I recommend to read my previous note about the Chakana: The Inca cross so you and better understand what I mean.

Ok let’s come back to the famous Inca cross:

In its construction the diagonal has an angle of 45 ° ( blue one) and with the red it shows 22 ° 30, now the funny thing is imagine the blue line in the country of Peru…something like this…

Well so why the blue line is important? And where is the red line?

If we superimpose this diagram to the globe, more precisely in Peru, the Qhapaq Ñan will be at 45 ° from the North-South axis and the "line or path of truth" or Chekaluwa will practically be superimposed on the axis of rotation of the earth having an angle of 23 ° 30'. This leads us to conclude that this "Line of truth or of life"; was originally the angle of the axis of rotation of the earth that nowadays has a slope of 23 ° 30'. So in that time the axis of rotation was 22 ° 30', and that this is the exact inclination that creates life and biodiversity on earth, being the cause of the solstices, the seasons and the diversity of climates.

Wow!

So the pre-Incas and Incas were really wise ad they did know he secret of the balance in life.

So if you are in Peru look carefully you will found this symbol in everywhere, temples, textiles

ceramics…everything and you will see and read the wisdom from the elders talking to you about the importance of balance in life.
